FileSift is a Mac app that sorts files on your computer. We designed it to keep your data private.
What the app collects
Nothing. FileSift does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It has no account system and no analytics or tracking of any kind.
Your files
FileSift reads and moves the files and folders you choose, entirely on your Mac. Your files and their contents are never uploaded or sent anywhere. Folder access is stored locally (as macOS security-scoped bookmarks) only so the app can reopen the folders you picked.
Network
The app does not connect to the internet.
Third parties
None. The app contains no third-party SDKs, ad networks, or analytics services.
Bug reports
If you choose to send a bug report or feedback from the app, it opens a pre-filled message in your own email app. The message includes a small, non-identifying diagnostic snapshot — app version, macOS version, and coarse state such as file and destination counts, plus the app's own recent log entries. It never includes your file names, folder paths, or a screenshot, and nothing is sent until you review the message and press send.
